About Boyds Canine Care

Founded in 2025, Boyd’s Canine Care is dedicated to providing outstanding dog services with genuine care, compassion and reliability. We understand how important your dog is to you – that’s why we deliver peace of mind with every visit.

Our services are available from 6:00 to 21:00, seven days a week, with no extra charges on weekends or bank holidays. This commitment stems from our founder Owen’s personal experience with the mental health benefits of canine companionship and the challenges faced by shift workers. Owen brings insight from careers in the railway, care sector and policing, ensuring we cater for the diverse needs of our clients.

For the comfort and wellbeing of your dog, we offer individual, household-based care rather than group walks. We recognise that some dog’s experience social anxiety or are reactive in groups, so our tailored approach guarantees your pet receives undivided attention and personalised adventures. With your consent, we provide single source protein treats, ideal for dogs with allergies or sensitive digestion.

We take your privacy seriously. Security, privacy and professionalism are at the heart of Boyd’s Canine Care. We will happily share photos of your dog directly with you but will never post them on social media or use them in marketing materials without your explicit written consent.

Our founder Owen’s passion for dogs is rooted in family tradition – his family have owned dogs for over a century, spanning eight generations. With experience across a range of breeds including crossbreeds, Labradors, West Highland Terriers and Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Owen has developed deep bonds and expertise in dog handling, behaviour and personalities.

Owen holds qualifications in dog day care and boarding, covering handling, behaviour, training, health, welfare, safety and biosecurity. He is certified in canine first aid and advanced emergency canine first aid, ensuring your dog is in safe, capable hands.

Our specialist vehicle, a former Ministry of Defence Citroen Dispatch, has been professionally adapted for safe and comfortable dog transportation. It features two large crates (which can be combined), air conditioning, a constant airflow system, separate ventilation and extraction, internal lighting, and emergency escape hatches.

The vehicle meets DEFRA Type-2 standards and is equipped with vet bedding, enhanced canine first aid kits, fire extinguishers and a dog ramp for accessibility.
