Founded in 2025, Boyd’s Canine Care provides specialised dog care services built on reliability and high standards. We recognise the importance of your dog’s routine, delivering dependable care for complete peace of mind.

We operate from 06:00 to 21:00, seven days a week, with no additional charges for weekends or bank holidays. This structure reflects our founder Owen’s experience with shift-work demands and the mental health benefits of canine companionship. Drawing from prior careers in the railway, care sector, and policing, Owen ensures our service adapts to diverse professional schedules.

To prioritise individual welfare, we provide exclusive, household-based care rather than group walks. Group environments can cause stress or reactivity for certain dogs. Our individual approach ensures dedicated attention and structured routines tailored to your dog. Upon request, we offer single-source protein treats suitable for dogs with sensitive digestion or allergies.

We maintain strict privacy standards. Confidentiality and security remain core principles of our operations. While we share updates and photographs directly with you, we never publish images on social media or marketing materials without prior written consent.

Owen’s expertise draws on a long family tradition of dog ownership spanning eight generations over a century. Having worked with various breeds—including Labradors, West Highland Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and crossbreeds—he possesses extensive practical knowledge in canine behaviour and handling.

Owen holds formal qualifications in dog day care and boarding, covering health, welfare, behaviour, safety, and biosecurity. He is also certified in canine first aid and advanced emergency canine care.

For transport, we utilise a custom-fitted vehicle formerly operated by the Ministry of Defence. Built to DEFRA Type-2 standards, it features temperature control, separate ventilation and extraction systems, dual-crate configurations, internal lighting, and emergency hatches. The vehicle carries veterinary bedding, advanced first-aid equipment, fire extinguishers, and an access ramp.
